O’Keeffe’s Working Hands + Bonus Cute Puppy

Puppies, one of the many reasons for cracked, dry hands.

I’ve recently been looking for a reason to write a product endorsement on O’Keeffe’s Working Hands, but I figured it would be a little obvious if it related to woodworking. Matt from MBW recently wrote one here with the woodworker’s angle. I completely agree with his assessment as well. Wood seems to suck the moisture from our hands and slices them to bits. The winter’s dry weather really can do a number of cracking and splitting knuckles and fingertips. Even our spouses remind us of how rough they can get this time of the year.

So where does the puppy fit in? We recently brought home this cute little 8 week old, 2.3 lb fluff ball. Roscoe, like most puppies is learning how and where to go potty. With that comes the work and clean-up on the floor dozens of times a day. This includes the disinfectant wipes, and subsequent hand washings for each incident. The cleaning chemicals, hand washing and dry winter weather is murder on your hands when cleaning up after a puppy.

O'Keeffe's Working HandsEnter O’Keeffe’s Working Hands. I’ve used it before, but this time around, it really made an immediate and noticeable difference. The cracked, dry, stinging feeling started to fade almost immediately. While some people are a little hesitant at first to use this product regularly because it has a slightly different feeling after application, there clearly is a difference in it’s performance. In fact, I’m trying to get my wife to drop the more expensive hand lotion she uses for O’Keeffe’s Working Hands.

So whether you are a woodworker or a new puppy owner, give O’Keeffe’s Working Hands a try this winter, you won’t be disappointed. I give it two (slightly cracked, but healing) thumbs-up.
