2011 Website in Review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog. I really only got things started in November, so I know my benchmarks for 2012. Thanks to everyone who has shown an interest in coming to my site in 2011. Be on the look out for more videos and completed project photos early this year.

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. BrownellFurniture.com was viewed about 1,500 times in 2011, just for November – December. If it were a cable car, it would take about 25 trips to carry that many people.

Why We Obsess

I recently had a brief, but very interesting discussion with a good friend and furniture maker Jeff Miller. We were talking about a question that came up recently by one of his students regarding why he had experienced a particular problem with a finished piece. What struck me was not the actual topic driving the student’s frustration, rather his desire to want to know why it happened and what he could do to control it.
